I am a PhD student within the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Aston University. My PhD research area is multi-agent systems, focusing specifically upon creating and utilising an agent-based model to simulate and explore retail market phenomena. My supervisor is Dr. Maria Chli and I am a member of the Knowledge Engineering research group at Aston University.
Agent-based modelling
Agent-based modelling is a method for studying complex systems like economies, societies, ecologies etc. Mathematical analysis of such systems is limited due to its top down approach, failing to capture system complexity; agent-based modelling offers a more natural, practical and constructive method of analysis.
Agent-based modelling helps us develop an empirical understanding of complex system, allowing us to investigate how and why certain regularities have emerged or persisted.
